Performance was originally formed in 1985 and is owned by Mike Lauer. Mike, a Canton Ohio native, has been a professional rebuilder for over 20 years. Though modest as he may be, his knowledge, and perhaps more importantly, his understanding, of the automotive electrical and charging systems is rivaled by few. Mike's hobbies and interests? First, his family. Next, alternators and starters. Making them better, improving testing techniques and diagnostics, and recently added to that list: The 'net. 
 
Performance starter engineer Rick Fogle has been a starter specialist nearly every day of his life. He's worked on nearly every kind of starting mechanism in existence, from a submarine to a helicopter ( they're both REALLY hard to 'bump-start'! ) and everything in between. Rick's been with Performance for about 5 years and we're lucky to have him.  Any other rebuilder would take him in a heartbeat. In fact, a few have even made that very clear. 

Ben Joiner is the Performance senior employee and acting manager in Mike's absence. Ben's been with Performance for over a decade and knows the business and it's customers as well as he knows his own name. His self-imposed purpose in life is to build the best, most reliable alternator there is. And he does. 

The 'face' of Performance to most of our clients is Omar Artzner, or "The Big 'O'"  -from the orange juice commercials of yester-year. Omar's been with Performance for over 10 years, always delivering our products on time. Neither sleet, nor rain, nor Belden Village rush hour traffic at Christmas time can keep this courier from his appointed rounds. He's really the 'unsung hero' in the success of Performance over the years. 

Sam Reilly is the newest member of the Performance team. Sam's in charge of new accounts and is always happy to greet a new face. Unlike your typical "Account Rep", Sam can talk 'tech with the best of them. His history as a bus mechanic in NYC has him equipped with the ability to really understand what we do as well as how get to the bottom of any electrical problem. 

Jason is the magician who some how keeps the shop clean. -Not "tidy". -Not "kept". Clean. The white ceilings and walls and the 'snap-on red' floors really ARE white and 'snap-on red'. Our new state-of-the-art stainless steel test bench is even suitable for dining. Stop by and see for yourself. Jason's most tedious task? The meticulous cleaning of "Mike's Antique Garage & Paraphernalia Collection" which is displayed in the entrance room. "Maybe this old junk's actually worth something" he says as he keeps on cleaning.
